Taken in 1929 by Alfred Henry Rushbrook on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Improvement Trust. Tenements and shops around St Leonards were photographed before buildings were pulled down for slum clearance.

1) Carrigogunnell Castle, Co. Limerick, Ireland. Built around 1450. This photo taken between 1860-83.

2) St. Doulagh’s Church, Dublin, Ireland. The oldest part of the building is 1100’s. Photo taken about same time as above.
